I can't stand up for falling down

November 20, 2004
Now that I'm in love and happy and haven't had a heart ache since the day I met Michael it's sort of had an affect on my choice-of-music. Fortunately for me my ShoeGazer has no "lyrics" so it has adjusted its purpose from ministering to my loneliness as a single woman to now ministering to my loneliness as a long-distance-relationship (LDR) girlfriend.

I've decided that there is a HUGE lack in sad LDR songs and I'm not well pleased by this. I seriously have to delve into late '60s doo-wop and soul to get a good Vietnam era "this is dedicated to the one I love" kind of tune for that. Apparently the LDR isn't a major source of torment for many people.

Is it that unusual? Do most people adhere to the principle of CSNY?

there's a rose in a fisted glove
and the eagle flies with the dove
and if you can't be with the one you love
hone, love the one you're with

Am I in some minority for sticking things out over a thousand miles? I mean, I realize what I have is special and once in a lifetime, but doesn't every individual lifetime have their Once? At leaset once, I mean.

I don't remember the last time I listened to Lover, You Should've Come Over. Generally if I want to milk a bad mood I listen to songs that make me bemoan my childhood like Trailer Trash by Modest Mouse or Good Year for the Roses by Elvis Costello.

I'm so sorry to be missing asitwere's birthday party tonight. It's at Patio, too, of all places. Dude, I have one thing to say to you:
suck a dick up till you hiccup.
Love,
mKla
